Thinking about moving to New Bern or elsewhere in Craven County? People come for the history, the rivers, Cherry Point and a cost of living below many coastal areas. The happiest newcomers plan for the realities: flood zones near the rivers, insurance costs, hot summers and a job market centered on the base, healthcare and local government.
These guides cover cost of living, schools, flood zones, retiring here and PCS moves to Cherry Point. Compare communities in our towns and neighborhoods section, then use our home and property and local pros pages once you move in.
